RESUME

Through undergraduate studies, 15 years of teaching, and personal experiences, I have acquired a broad understanding of language acquisition, education in the school setting, and curriculum development.  As a teacher at an Apple School of Distinction, I have been challenged to adapt, create, and hone new technological tools in order to best serve students and collaborate with colleagues.

Worked with approximately one hundred students and families in Spanish classes from level 1 through 5.  Provide guidance and correction to students with discipline and academic problems.  Collaborate with administrators and other staff to provide appropriate curriculum for students. Maintain records and documentation of curriculum and grades for the students and the school.  Research and test possible new methods and tools for language learning. Organize yearly student mission trips to Mexico.

 

August 2009 – June 2014

 

Foreign Language Department Chair, Greater Atlanta Christian School

Norcross, GA

 

Led teachers in developing and documenting curriculum.  Maintained departmental budget and requests for acquisitions of new curriculum and educational tools.  Organized national testing for over 700 students per year in French, Latin and Spanish including proctors, exam materials and registration.  Provided training to teachers on how to use moodle, quia.com, quizlet, educanon, haiku and netclassroom.  Selected and registered teachers for appropriate professional conferences.  Observed and documented observations yearly for all teachers in the department.  Led monthly meetings for the department and attended monthly meetings for all high school department chairs.
